Who is Chargers Direct?

Chargers Direct is a premier supplier and installer of electric vehicle charging infrastructure and a key service provider to automotive retailers.

Founded in 2018, we serve private, commercial and industrial clients such as property developers, businesses, restaurants and hotels with selected charging technology.
Our goal is to be consistent, fair and transparent with products, services and support.

Our product range covers all areas of charging technology, from small home charging stations to 350kW+ ultra-rapid charging stations, like you would find in a car park near a highway. We only use proven products because our products’ ease of use, functionality, and longevity is important to us.

Ross Cullen

Executive Director & Founder

Ross is the Executive Director and Founder of Chargers Direct. In this position, Ross is responsible for overseeing the financial strategy and direction of the company, as well as liaising with key stakeholders to ensure the firm continues to provide an excellent service to its clients.

With over ten years of experience in finance, Ross has a well-developed skill set in corporate analysis, structure and risk management.

During his career, Ross has held various executive positions, including directorships in investment management, cryptocurrency, and financial planning firms.

Coming from a stockbroking background Ross is a qualified Derivatives Adviser and HNW Portfolio Manager who shares a passion for finance and the share market.

Growing up off-grid in rural New Zealand, Ross has a strong interest in alternative energy strategies and eco-living, implementing sustainable practices into daily living and business.
Ross and his wife, Rochelle, live in Brisbane with their three children, Kaie, Imogen and Brody.


James Eveland

Managing Director

As Managing Director, James is responsible for implementing the strategic development course of the company and maintaining solid relationships with our partners.

James holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey. He has extensive experience in Business Management and Development and a sound understanding of IT infrastructure administration in larger organisations.

Throughout his career, his drive to continue to research and grow in various roles has led him into positions in Account Management, Consultancy, Business Development and Sales, all with acknowledged success.

For several years, James worked as a volunteer in the humanitarian sector. He was part of an organisation impacting thousands of people who would otherwise have no essential medical assistance.

James is passionate about honest, transparent business and carries strong moral guidance in his approach.


Rick Klink

Non-Executive Director and Partner

Rick Klink is a Non-Executive Director of both Chargers Direct and its parent company, Innovate Green, as well as an equity partner.

Bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team, Rick is committed to ensuring the group grows to be an innovative market leader in the EV and renewable energy space.
Rick is the co-founder and Executive Chair of RegenCo, an Australian carbon credit consultancy firm that produces over 1 million carbon credits annually.

With over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, Rick is regarded as a leading industry expert across financial and technological services, with his extensive experience in founding and developing organisations in this space making him one of the most prominent and successful figures in shaping Australia’s stockbroking system and Fintech landscape.
Rick began his career at IBM Australia before going on to lead the company in several executive positions in Australia and overseas. He was awarded the IBM Golden Circle award in 1996, one of the highest forms of recognition within the company globally.

Rick founded fintech company Paritech in 2000 to provide trading and investing technology globally. He later led the development team that built a share trading platform, ProTrader for Australia’s most prominent online stockbroking firm, CommSec.

In 2013, Rick co-founded OpenMarkets, now Australia’s largest independent Australian stockbroking firm, where he held the role of CEO, as well as Chief Technology Officer and Executive Director roles. Rick also expanded OpenMarkets to achieve a monthly turnover of $6 Billion.

Rick has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering from Monash and served in the Australian Army Reserve.


Peter Atkinson

Executive Director & Chief Technology Officer

Peter, as an Executive Director of EV Impact also functions as the Chief Technology Officer. Peter’s remit is to align EV Impacts technology selections towards the most strategic and beneficial partnerships. Peter has recently finalised his Masters thesis on the Digitalization of Australian Commercial Infrastructure through the University of Cumbria in the UK.

Peter’s background spans over 20 years in the electrical industry. Commencing his career as an industrial electrician building and operating quarry and concrete batching plants, he has served for the past 13 years in senior roles within ABB Australia focused on low and medium voltage electrification systems, digitalization and electric vehicle charging systems. His pursuit of knowledge and broad industry experience allows EV Impact to proceed with confidence in multiple energization sectors.

Peter’s community focus is aligned with serving the public through patrolling the beaches of the Sunshine Coast as an Active Surf Life Saver and as a previous IRB racer as part of SLSA surf sports.


Dr Andrè van Zyl

Non-Executive Director & Chair

Andrè is a highly developed leader and Director in the finance and business sector and is an effective developer of teams of people linked to organisational strategy. With over 25 years of International commercial sector experience in multiple Director roles in corporate governance consultancy, finance, private education, security, environmental science, and automotive industries, Andrè is well-placed to lead the company’s financial health and corporate governance. Andrè is a graduate and Fellow of the Company Directors’ Course (FAICD) and currently facilitates, presents, and reviews courses for the Australian Institute of Company Directors in Company Directors’ Strategy, Risk, and Cybersecurity.

Andrè is also the Regional Director of Queensland for a global company, The CFO Centre Pty Ltd and Executive Director for Pro-Ed Enterprises, a consulting company in Corporate Governance and Coaching. He is also the Managing Director of Improving Schools Australia Pty Ltd and provides professional services for Non-State School Accreditation reviews in Australia. Andrè is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors and Managers (FIIDM) and a certificated member of the Governance Institute of Australia (GIA).

Andrè has a passion for the sustainable practices required for the longevity of our planet and holds a Doctorate in Environmental Science Education, along with a master’s degree in Eco-Tourism and other degrees in Industrial Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Psychology. He has presented sustainability sessions at three World Congresses in Environmental Education, including Durban (South Africa), Brisbane (Australia) and Montreal (Canada).
